The British Standards Institute (BSI) was the first national standards authority in the world. Operating in the UK and worldwide, they ensure the utmost excellence in a wide range of products and services.
The BSI Kitemark (pictured) features on objects and appliances. The Kitemark is only available from BSI. In order to obtain a Kitemark, products and services are assessed by BSI, ensuring compliance with the relevant specification or standard. Once issued, Kitemark licensees face regular surveillance to ensure they continue to meet the correct standards.
Being a member and meeting the standards of BSI allows Millard Consulting to stay up to date with the most current Codes of Practice. It allows us to carry out work safely, correctly and to the highest possible standard.
The standards are used in each of our six departments but will be used mostly by our Structural Design team. The Structures Team use these Codes of Practice in relation to concrete and steel works. The Infrastructure team apply these practices to highway and drainage design. For example, the standards set out the specifications of certain pipes that the Infrastructure team should or should not be using.
We at Millard Consulting are proud to have this accreditation and look forward to continuing to bring the highest possible standards to our clients.
