Millard Consulting: More than civil engineers

History

Millard Consulting was founded in 1986 by the late Terry Millard and his wife Debra; operating as a small civil engineering consultancy in Perth, Scotland.  In 1990,  Jonathan Cage, joined Terry and formed T A Millard Civil and Development Engineers.

Between them Terry and Jonathan provided engineering advice to clients based across the UK, but specifically started to develop a strong client base in East Anglia.  As a result of this, by 1989, a second office was opened in Norwich and from here things really began to expand.

Over a six-year period the company continued to go from strength-to-strength, with three new offices opening; Ipswich, Nuneaton and Sevenoaks. In 1995 the company became a partnership and in 2002, as a result of progressive expansion, reorganised into a series of limited companies, forming the T A Millard Group.

This change saw the development of a corporate structure that clearly defined responsibility to each company and enabled the quality of service to be improved. It also brought with it the centralisation of the companies’ head office, to Norwich.

In 2005, the Group completed a merger with Harold James Partnership, a successful structural engineering consultancy, with significant healthcare, education and industrial experience; based at Burnham near Slough.

In 2007 T A Millard rebranded as Millard Consulting to better reflect the comprehensive range of services that the group now provide, with particular strengths in the younger, emerging disciplines of flood risk and environmental.

Today Millard Consulting are more than civil engineers. With over 100 staff, we offer a complete range of engineering services and share a common goal - to provide value added, sustainable, multi-discipline planning and design services for the built and natural environments.
