Hilton Dundee Nearing Completion

We have been engaged since late 2014 on the refurbishment of Argyll & Waverley Houses in Dundee. These buildings, which have long been part of the cityscape at the Westport roundabout, on the Marketgait, are receiving a complete facelift and internal refit courtesy of the Lindsay Gray Alan Beaton Partnership. The result of this work is beginning to look quite impressive, as the transformation nears completion and the new Hampton by Hilton Hotel takes shape.

As principal civil and structural engineer for the project, we have been involved in numerous aspects of the development from assessing ground conditions and existing drainage capacity to structural survey and down taking demolition specifications. The structural works have been designed by Millard and checked by our SER certifiers. As the building work reaches an advanced stage, we are finalising designs on some extension works, external roads, drainage and car parking.

The new hotel, which replaces the old Hilton, demolished in 2013 to make way for the waterfront development of the V&A museum is set to be completed later in 2016 and we look forward to the opening of this new city centre venue.
